Traditional Competitive Bid Approach

Construction has a consistent and successful track record in the
competitive bid market. In these situations, the Owner retains the
architect, who then designs the bid plans and specifications based
on the Owner’s requirements. Then the general contractor is selected
based upon the lowest “responsive bid.” To be able to offer our
future owner the best pricing, it is up to us to determine the most
cost effective way to build the project and to estimate the costs
accurately. This process generally takes the longest to complete.
We do four things to be cost effective:
- we stay abreast of current construction methods and best practices
- we practice innovation daily
- we work with reliable, highly qualified and competitively priced
specialty subcontractors
- we manage projects diligently and often effect outcomes more
favorably than originally expected
With this traditional bid approach, our involvement begins much
later in the building process often precluding many of the advantages
found in a design build or negotiated team approach.
